A theatre worker was detained on Tuesday for sexually assaulting his co-worker's two-year-old daughter at Pahadisharieff on the city outskirts.
The 19-year-old accused Narsimha lives in workers' quarters built on the theatre premises. On August 13, the worker was playing music loudly in his room when the kid playing outside came inside. “He closed the door and sexually assaulted the girl. As the latter cried, her mother knocked on the door,” Pahadisharieff Inspector Laxmikantha Reddy said. Convincing the girl's mother that the kid cried for no reason, Narsimha left the place.
Some time later, the woman found her daughter bleeding and took her to a doctor. “Girl's parents didn't suspect any assault and thought the kid accidentally sustained wound on her private parts. They didn't lodge any complaint on that day,” the Inspector said.
After a few days, the girl's mother raised suspicion on Narsimha's role recalling that the kid complained of pain while coming out of his room. This resulted in an argument between her and Narsimha. Police summoned the girl's parents and detained Narsimha. A case of rape was registered against him. The girl was sent to medical examination.
