The Anti-Corruption Bureau on Wednesday gave an undertaking to the Karnataka High Court that it will neither summon nor arrest former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa till August 28 in connection with the two cases registered against him on alleged illegal denotification of acquired lands when he was the Chief Minister.

Senior counsel for the ACB gave this undertaking when counsel for Mr. Yeddyurappa pointed out to the court that the ACB had on August 21 issued notice to Mr. Yeddyurappa asking him to appear before it on August 24 as it wanted to expedite the investigation.

The court was also assured that the ACB would withdraw the notice issued on August 24.

Justice Aravind Kumar, who is hearing Mr. Yedyurappa's petitions questioning registration of two FIRs against him, has postponed further hearing to Monday.
