The Bharat Vikas Group (BVG) today said that it collects around 800 tonnes of waste everyday in its door-to-door collection from 49 wards of the city, an official of the company said.
To improve efficiency and maintain the quality of services, the BVG has also deployed around 700 primary and 100 secondary workers for the success of the clean city mission, group chairman Hanmant R Gaikwad said.
"Our aim is to incorporate various modern technologies to ensure cleanliness of the city.
"The BVG is combining its expertise in waste, water and energy services to deliver comprehensive and integrated solutions to support the sustainable development of cleaner and smarter cities," he said.
Jaipur Mayor Ashok Lahoti said that door-to-door garbage collection is the only efficient way to keep cities clean.
Forty-nine of the city's 91 wards have been covered by door-to-door garbage collection, the work will start in 15 wards soon and the remaining wards will be covered by Diwali season, he said.
However, former councillor of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation and Congress leader Archna Sharma said that the project has not shown the desired results.
