A newly-married woman committed suicide by hanging herself at an apartment here, police said today.
Deep Shikha was living at an upscale society in sector 78 since her marriage to Sanjay for the last eight months.
"Her parents who reside in Meerut have been informed and the body is already sent for post-mortem," SHO, Sector 49 police station Parshu Ram said.
Sanjay, who works at AIIMS, was not present when she took the extreme step. However, her mother-in-law was at the house, Parshu Ram said, adding that an investigation into the matter is on.
In another incident, a woman has lodged an FIR against her boyfriend Rahul for allegedly torturing her.
