Union Minister for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatraya on Tuesday hailed and welcomed the verdict of the Constitutional Bench of Supreme Court on the ‘Triple Talaq’. It will bring legitimate rights and provide reasonable living standards to Muslim women who had suffered under the pernicious practice, he observed.
Urging the religious heads and clerics to be in tune with the judgement, he was confident of the Muslim brothers welcoming the “historic” ruling. In the name of religious practices nobody’s legitimate rights should be condemned. Mr. Dattatraya congratulated the Muslim women for having approached up to Supreme Court for the cause of their legitimate rights.
Earlier, BJP TS president K. Laxman said the SC judgement was not a matter of victory or defeat for any section of the society but something to do with the self-respect and betterment of the Muslim women. He congratulated and thanked the BJP led NDA Government led by Narendra Modi for having stood by the Muslim women who had approached the Apex Court. Dr. Laxman at a press conference also advised the Majlis MP Asaduddin Owaisi to respect the court verdicts and not be selective in hailing them which only exposed his double talk. He also ticked him for comments on the bomb blast verdict at the Task Force office and wanted him to spell out his stand on terrorism.
