more-in

A division bench of Hyderabad High Court comprising Justice V. Ramasubramanian and Justice T. Rajani on Tuesday directed the authorities of NTR Health University of AP and Kaloji Health University of Telangana not to conduct any further counselling for filling the super-speciality medicine seats in the medical colleges under their purview. The issue of non-local quota will be adjudicated on Wednesday.

The bench was hearing the arguments in several cases that challenged the decision of the convener of NEET to not admit the students from AP and Telangana into any of the universities outside these two States. The convener claimed that students from other States are not allowed into the colleges of A.P and Telanagana citing Article 371-D and Presidential Order. The other universities need not allow the entry of the students of AP and Telanagana into their areas even under non-local quota, is his claim. Several AP and Telangana students who were selected for super specialty medical seats in other States are now denied admission. The bench posted the case to Wednesday for a comprehensive hearing of all the related matters.
