Justice H.S. Kempanna Commission, which probed into the alleged illegal denotification of lands in the Arkavathy Layout in Bengaluru by Chief Minster Siddaramaiah, submitted its report to Chief Secretary Subhash Chandra Khuntia on Wednesday.
Justice Kempanna, who submitted the 1861 page report, said: “I have completed my task after studying all aspects of the complaints received about the alleged irregularities in development of the Arkavathy Layout. Now, it is up to the government to decide the future course of action.”
The Chief Secretary refused to comment on the report, which would be tabled in the State Legislature.
According to reliable sources, the report is said to have given a clean chit to Mr. Siddaramaiah, while attributing the alleged irregularities to lapses on part of some of the middle and lower rung officials of Bangalore Development Authority(BDA) and Urban Development department.
The Commission was established in August 2014, after the Opposition BJP in both the houses of State legislature alleged that Mr. Siddaramaiah was a direct beneficiary of the denotification of 541 acres of land. The BJP had sought a CBI probe into the alleged irregularities.
