The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has issued summons to BJP State president B.S. Yeddyurappa to appear before it on Thursday for questioning in connection with two land denotification cases.
Senior Karnataka Administrative Service officer Basavarajendra, who has alleged that ACB sleuths tried to coerce him into giving a statement against the former Chief Minister, has also been summoned.
The ACB has registered two FIRs against Mr. Yeddyurappa over the alleged illegal denotification of 257 acres and 20.5 guntas of land from the preliminary notification on the Dr. Shivarama Karanth Layout when he was CM. Mr. Basavarajendra, the then land acquisition officer at Bangalore Development Authority, is the second accused in one case.
In response to an earlier summons by the ACB soon after the case was registered, Mr. Yeddyurappa had sought time to gather documents pertaining to the case. This is the second summons.
