July 2017 has been a grim month for recruitment industry as such with talent demand dipping by 3 per cent in July 2017, reveals the new edition of RecruiteX - the recruitment index by TimesJobs.
Logistics was the top performing sector and posted an eight per cent rise in talent demand followed by accounting and biotech professionals which reported a 4 per cent rise. Healthcare and IT/telecom sectors also saw rise in talent demand during the month.
Petrochemicals, infrastructure, BPO/ITeS posted significant drop in talent demand. Accounting, finance, biotech, pharma, doctors, nurses and medical professionals reported rise in talent demand. Entertainment/media/journalism professionals saw 2 per cent rise in demand.
Hiring dropped across most key industry segments.
Among key locations, tier II locations posted maximum increase in demand for talent. Chandigarh was the top hiring location for July 2017. Mumbai was the best performing metro in terms of recruitment during the month. Among states, Karnataka posted over 30 per cent rise in talent demand. Hiring dropped across most key industry segments.
Talent demand was sluggish for all experience categories, barring candidates having 2-5 years of experience which posted stable demand. Candidates with 2-5 years of experience reported stable demand during July 2017; while professionals with over 20 years of experience posted highest (12 per cent) drop in demand. Candidates with 5-10 and 10-20 years of experience witnessed 4 per cent drop in demand.
