The students of the Government Boys Higher Secondary School in Belur town near Vazhappadi have set a worthy example by setting up a ‘Wall of Kindness’ to help the poor and downtrodden. The wall was inaugurated by Gnanaganesan, head master, at a function held on the school premises recently.
The teachers and the students will be depositing clothes, books and other unused items in their households at the shelf created at the ‘Wall of Kindness’.
The students belonging to weaker sections in need can collect the things required for them from the shelf.
Siva Emko, a teacher, explaining the uniqueness of the project, said it would motivate the younger generation towards service mindedness, care for the poor and sacrifice.
Mr. Gnanaganesan said that the wall had been set up at the suggestion of the students themselves. He called upon the student community to continue to help the poor students.
