Yamaha Fazer 25 Launch: Highlights
Catch all the updates live from the Yamaha Fazer 250 launch here, as the Japanese auto giant prepares to introduce its second 250 cc offering in the country.
A highly surprising yet much awaited launch for the year, the Yamaha Fazer 25 is now on sale in the country priced at Rs. 1,29,335 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new quarter-litre offering is the Japanese auto giant's second launch for 2017 and is essentially the full-faired version of the Yamaha FZ25 that was introduced this March. The new Fazer 25 shares its cycle parts and mechanicals with the FZ25, while the styling is all-new on the motorcycle. Yamaha termed the FZ25 as an evolution of the FZ-16 that arrived over a decade ago and the new Fazer 25 emerges an evolved version of the Fazer 150 motorcycle.

Unlike the half-faired Fazer 150, the new Yamaha Fazer 25 gets an all-new full fairing with a single LED headlamp cluster, LED DRLs, and a massive full fairing for a muscular appearance. The 14 litre fuel tank remains the same while the split seat setup is said to be a lot more comfortable. The all-digital instrument cluster from the FZ25 has been carried over on the new Fazer. Yamaha has positioned the new Fazer 25 as a tourer friendly offering.
With respect to the powertrain, the Yamaha Fazer 25 use the 249 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with oil cooling. The motor is tuned to produce 20.6 bhp at 8000 rpm and peak torque of 20 Nm at 6000 rpm, while paired to a 5-speed gearbox. While the FZ25 has a kerb weight of 148 kg, the new Fazer 25 is only slightly heavier at 154 kg.

Braking performance comes from a twin disc brake setup at the front and rear. Sadly, Yamaha isn't offering ABS on the Fazer 25 and has no plans to introduce the same until 2019, when it becomes mandatory.
