Cong Leader Ibrahim files nomination for upper House bypoll

leader C M Ibrahim today filed his nomination for the Legislative Council bypoll scheduled on August 31.

He was accompanied by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, PCC President and Working President Gundu Rao.


President had approved Ibrahim's name for the bypoll on August 18.

The filing of nomination had begun on August 14.

Ibrahim was former civil aviation minister in the H D Deve Gowda ministry.

The bypoll was necessitated by the death of member Vimala Gowda, who passed away on April 17.

The last date for filing nomination is August 21.

The assembly is slated for early next year.
