Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today announced an ex-gratia of Rs two lakh each to the kin of passengers from the state, who lost their lives in Utkal Express derailment near Khatauli in Uttar Pradesh.
The chief minister also announced Rs 50,000 to those injured in the train mishap.
"Nearly 10 passengers from Madhya Pradesh were killed and over 71 others were injured in the mishap," a public relations department official said.
The chief minister also directed the officials to ensure adequate medical facilities to the injured persons.
"Six persons from Gwalior and four from Morena districts were killed in the incident. Among the injured, 46 are from Gwalior, 26 from Morena, two from Anuppur and three others," the official added.
