Jenna Coleman can't wait to see Jodie Whittaker as Doctor Who

Press Trust of India  |  London

Actor Jenna Coleman said she was excited for Jodie Whittaker, who would take over from Peter Capaldi to play the 13th Time Lord, and could not wait for the next season.

The 31-year-old actor, who played Clara Oswald opposite Matt Smith's 11th Doctor and Capaldi's 12th Doctor between 2012 and 2015, said it is a great time as Whittaker has become the first female "Doctor Who", reported The Telegraph.

"Jodie is such a clever actress. I can't wait to see what she does. I just want to hear her speak. It's a really exciting time," Coleman said.

Whittaker had recently said it was a dream come true for her as an artiste to have bagged the titular role of "Doctor Who".

"I'm about to play an alien, a Time Lord. And that as a girl? Who knew? That's incredible and really emotional because of that," she had said.
