At least 100 cases dengue have been reported from West Bengal’s Birbhum district.
“We have received reports of at least 100 cases of dengue since July 23. While about 60 of these cases are from the Dubrajpur town in the district’s Suri Sadar sub-division, the rest are from other areas such as Bolpur and Rampurhat towns. But no one has died so far,” Chief Medical Officer of Birbhum, Himadri Ari, told The Hindu.
He also said that no cases of dengue have been reported from the flood-affected Labhpur block in the district. According to district officials, a large-scale awareness campaign has been undertaken.
