Fans displeased at move hours before audio release event

In a special drive against unauthorised publicity material in public places in the town, the civic staff have removed several flexi posters put up by the fans of cine actor Nandamuri Balakrishna hours before the audio release function of the latter’s upcoming movie ‘Paisa Vasool’ held here on Thursday evening.

Admirers of Balakrishna, TDP MLA from Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh, erected publicity material of their favourite hero on the road dividers on main thoroughfares of the town in connection with the audio release ceremony.

The staff of the Khammam Municipal Corporation (KMC) removed the flexi posters and banners hours before the function. Irked by the move, aggrieved fans of Mr. Balakrishna staged a protest near the bypass for some time.

However, the civic officials justified the move saying the flexi banners put up by the ruling TRS leaders in public places during the visit of Municipal Administration Minister K. T. Rama Rao were also removed in the town in June this year.

Audio release

Meanwhile, Mr. Balakrishna, accompanied by the members of the movie unit, participated in the audio release function of his upcoming film at the sprawling SR&BGNR college grounds here on Thursday evening. Mr. Balakrishna, along with the members of the film unit including co-stars, arrived here in a private chopper.
