Numeric, a manufacturer of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems and a group company of France’s Legrand, aims to almost double its domestic market share and the revenue share of exports in five years, according to a top official.
“Currently, we have a market share of 10-12% in India and exports account for 6% of total revenue,” said Palash Nandy, chief commercial officer, Numeric. “This, we would like to touch 20% and 10% respectively in five year’s time.”
Chennai-based Numeric was acquired by €5 billion Legrand in 2012.
Since then, it had been posting compounded annual growth rate of 2.6% as against the industry average of negative 0.5%.
‘Growing market’
“The growth rate in single- phase UPS is flat in value due to declining sales volume of desktops, while in three-phase it is growing by 5%,” said Mr. Nandy. “We are focusing on three-phase UPS, as it is a growing market in the country.”
