Edible, non-edible oils advance on sustained demand

Groundnut advanced at the Vashi oils and oilseeds wholesale market here today on sustained demand from stockists and retailers.

Refined palmolein also firmed up following better retail offtake.


Castorseeds bold and castor commercial surged owing to rising demand from shippers and soap industries.

Linseed continued to remain stable in the absence of any worthwhile buying from paint and allied industries.

In the edible segment, groundnut rose by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 850 from Thursday's close of Rs 845 and refined palmolein gained further by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 560 from Rs 555.

Moving to non-edible section, castorseeds bold edged up by Rs 5 per 100 kg to Rs 4,755 as compared to Rs 4,750 and castor commercial inched up Rs 980 per 10 kg.

Linseed ended unaltered at Rs 750 per 10 kg.
