Press Trust of India  |  Mumbai

Two women in Agripada area in central have lodged separate complaints alleging that unidentified persons chopped off their hair when they were asleep.

Similar complaints had been reported in and in the last few weeks, and also in neighbouring district.

The city police today said that on August 12, a 45-year-old woman, resident of Arab Masjid area in Agripada, lodged a complaint that somebody chopped off her hair when she was deep in sleep around midnight.

Two days later, another woman, resident of Kalapani in Agripada, approached police with similar complaint. She also said she was having a headache since the incident, so the police sent her to hospital for medical examination, but she didn't return, said a police officer.

Police are verifying the complaints, but haven't registered any criminal case so far.
