The Karnataka government is taking all steps to clean the dirty Bellandur lake in Bengaluru, and all the problems will be fixed within a year or two, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said here on Thursday.
Speaking to journalists in the national capital, the chief minister said: “The government is concerned about the froth emanating from the lake, and a team of officials is looking into the issue.”
On the National Green Tribunal’s (NGT) repeated criticism of the lake restoration works undertaken by his government, he said: “Our officials and the legal team will handle this issue.”
Due to heavy rain in Bengaluru in the past two days, Bellandur lake once again spilled toxic foam, raising foul smell and pollution in the neighbourhood.
