: Opposition AIADMK (Amma) today charged the Congress government in Puducherry with "lacking a clear and firm approach" on the yardstick for admission to medical courses in the Union Territory for this academic year.
Talking to reporters here, leader of AIADMK (Amma) Legislature party A Anbalagan said the government had not taken a firm decision as to whether "the admission would be on the basis of NEET examination" or by considering marks obtained in plus two exams, without taking into account the score in NEET.
The government of Tamil Nadu had come out with a very clear and firm approach and had also moved the centre for an ordinance to exempt the state from NEET, he added.
"Puducherry government has not taken any such step. On the other hand counselling has already been conducted on the basis of performance in NEET examination and students have also been admitted after collecting fees," Anbalagan ZCZC
