Indira Canteen inauguration: Traffic hit

Traffic movement in the southern parts of the city, including around National College, Lalbagh, Jayanagar, J.C. Road and Town Hall was disrupted for several hours due to the inauguration of Indira Canteen. Though the traffic police had issued advisory on the diversions and alternative routes, thousands of motorists were not aware of this and as a result were caught in the huge traffic jam. Several BMTC buses carrying people to the venue of the programme were parked on the road, adding to the chaos.
