SCR launches cleanliness drive

Different activities to be taken up each day

‘Swachh Rail – Swachh Bharat, Swachhta Pakhwada’ — the Mission Cleanliness Drive — was formally launched by administering the Swachhta Pledge by Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya from the Kacheguda Railway Station on Wednesday.

After administering the pledge, he called upon the citizens to maintain cleanliness and participate actively in the programme towards making the country attain developed status in line with the thoughts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. SCR General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav said the cleanliness awareness programme is being observed from August 16 to 31 to keep the trains, station premises clean and hygienic.

The zone is always in the forefront in maintaining cleanliness standards and efforts are being made to improve further to achieve highest possible standards with a systemic approach. Later, he along with Mr. Dattatreya and BJP MLA G. Kishan Reddy plus other officers participated in the cleaning work in the circulating area of the station.

The fortnight long cleanliness drive will see each day marked for different activities to be taken up like Swachh Awareness, Swachh Samwad, Swachh Stations, Swachh Trains, Swachh Work Place, Swachh Residential Premises, Swachh Food, Swachh Water, Swachh Toilets etc. The Swachhta Pakhwada will involve various stakeholders including the railway officers/staff, rail family members and travelling public.
