Hollywood star Johnny Depp visited a children's hospital in Vancouver, Canada, dressed as his famous character from 'Pirates of the Caribbean'- Captain Jack Sparrow, reports Independent.

The 54-year-old actor was shooting for his new comedy drama, 'Richard Says Goodbye', when he decided to pay a visit to BC Children's Hospital.

The BC Children's Hospital foundation, in appreciation of Depp's gesture, posted photos of his visit on their page.

The hospital wrote, "Patients at BC Children's Hospital were delighted by a visit today with one of the world's most famous pirates, Captain Jack Sparrow. Actor Johnny Depp showed he has a heart of gold by spending more than 5 hours meeting one-on-one with every patient, from newborns to teens."

In his five hours at the hospital, Depp entertained the young patients and their families, posed for pictures, and had foam sword fights with some of the patients.

In December 2016, the 'on the Orient Express' star visited Great Ormond Street Hospital (London).

His daughter had been previously admitted there, due to kidney failure in 2007. Depp had said then, that he revisited the hospital in character because it was a 'gift'.
