New action plan to be formed soon

The Delhi government will soon come up with a plan to check the spread of vector-borne diseases in the Capital, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Tuesday.

In his address at the Chhatrasal Stadium here, Mr. Kejriwal also exhorted citizens to come together to “wage a war” against such illnesses.

“In the next 10 days, we will come up with a detailed plan to tackle dengue and chikungunya in Delhi,” he said.

This year, 500 cases of dengue, 385 cases of malaria and 283 cases of chikungunya have been reported from the city so far.

‘Callous approach’

The BJP, however, alleged that Mr. Kejriwal’s “callous” approach had led to an “abnormal” rise in the number of such cases over the last fortnight.
