Rajasthan government on Wednesday gave assurance to the Jat members about the decision to be taken in favour of the community in connection with their reservation demand.
Reacting to the assurance of state government, members of Jat community in Dholpur and Bharatpur districts of Rajasthan postponed their agitation for reservation, which was scheduled to begin today, till August 22. Earlier, representatives of the community had given a "deadline" of August 15 for a decision on the matter.
Congress MLA and Jat Aarakshan Aandolan Sangarsh Samiti Vishvendra Singh said the agitation was postponed as the state government assured to reach a decision on the reservation issue to Jat community of Bharatpur and Dholpur in its soon to be held cabinet meeting.
