Kerala has emerged as the first State in the country to achieve 100% online electoral enrolment under the national voters’ service portal.
Deputy Election Commissioner Sandeep Saxena launched the web-based application EROnet in Kerala at a function held here on Monday.
The facility helps voters get their names changed in electoral rolls, get details of their voter ID card rectified and their names transferred to another constituency online.
Chief Electoral Officer of the State E.K. Maji, District Electoral Officer and District Collector K. Mohammed Y. Safirulla, and tahsildar N.R. Vrindadevi attended the function.
An official release said EROnet was the new version of ECI-net aimed at bringing all details related to the voters’ list in various States under one roof.
The uniform system being used in all States helps the Election Commission get updates instantly, besides ensuring ease of monitoring and bringing out foolproof voters’ lists in each State.
