Day-night Test is 'step into unknown' for England: Broad

Fast bowler Stuart Broad has said that the day-night Test between and beginning Thursday at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground is a "step into the unknown".

It will be England's first ever day-night Test and the fifth in international cricket anywhere.

"I promise you, we are stepping into the unknown," the Guardian quoted Broad as saying.

"I just don't know what to expect. This is a big series for us and this is the first Test - it's quite nerve-racking. You're playing something that is completely unknown to you but you still have to stamp your authority on the series. I think it really opens up this series to start with," he added.

The inaugural day-night Test match was played at the Adelaide in November 2015 between and The Aussies have also beaten and in the same format.
