KOCHI: Two days after the Kalamassery police registered cases in connection with a scuffle between two Congress workers at Kalamassery, Shibina, wife of party activist Jiyas Jamal, on Monday lodged a complaint with the police against Jamal Manakkadan, spouse of councillor Rukiya Jamal, and six others, accusing them of “misbehaving” with her.
The complaint was filed with the City Police Commissioner and the Women’s Commission.
Based on the complaint, the police registered a case against seven persons, including Mr. Manakkadan, under IPC Sections 354 (A) (Sexual harassment); 323 (Voluntarily causing hurt); 341 (Wrongful restraint), and 143 (Unlawful assembly).
The case pertains to an incident in which two groups clashed with each other at Kalamassery on Saturday.
In her complaint, Rukiya Jamal had claimed that she was assaulted by a gang led by Jiyas Jamal.
Counter complaint
However, Jiyas filed a counter complaint, accusing Rukiya and her relatives of manhandling him.
