Malathi Chandur Award for novelist

Noted writer, novelist and artist Sivaraju Subbalakshmi has been chosen for the Malathi Chandur Award for 2017. The award will be given away to Ms. Subbalakshmi at a programme to be held at the Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University in Hyderabad on August 21.

Announcing this at a media conference here on Monday, Lok Nayak Foundation Chairman Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad said the programme was being organised under the aegis of the Amarajeevi Potti Sreeramulu Smaraka Samithi, family members and friends of Malathi Chandur.

The award was instituted in memory of the noted writer Malathi Chandur in 2014. The past recipients of the award were: C. Anandaramam, Yaddanapudi Sulochana Rani and K. Arudra Ramalakshmi.

The award carries a cash prize of ₹50,000.
