Tamil Maanila Congress president G.K. Vasan urged the Centre and the State government to seriously consider the option of interlinking rivers without any further delay, amid the severe drought prevailing in the State.
In a statement, he said the Centre and the State should share the cost for interlinking rivers and it would fetch good returns.
Mr. Vasan also urged the Centre to form a panel of experts and look at implementing the project in a safe manner.
