Leading commercial-vehicle makers are giving steep double-digit discounts to bring back momentum in the segment, which has struggled to recover since last year’s demonetisation.  Along with the discounts and a goods and services tax (GST)-led reduction, current selling prices of BS (Bharat Stage)-IV variant trucks are in many cases comparable to the rates for BS-III trucks.
