Gorakhpur incident murder of innocents: D. Raja

IANS  |  New Delhi

of (CPI) leader D. Raja on Monday termed the loss of lives in a state-run hospital in Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur incident is a of innocent lives and the state should be ashamed of the tragedy.

"It is a massacre that has happened in Gorakhpur which claimed more than 60 lives of children. The RSS-BJP is taking the country backward instead of achieving progress. What kind of freedom are we celebrating if we cannot even provide basic medical facilities at hospitals?" he asked.

Raja was speaking at an event organised by the National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW) to mark 70 years of India's Independence and highlight the struggles faced by the citizens.

"Our country needs to unite and stand up against RSS-BJPs' fascism. This is the biggest challenge that we are facing today. We need to stop the dictatorial attitude of the party in power; liberate from the RSS and fight against their ideologies," he said.
