A woman from Thudiyalur allegedly committed suicide by consuming pesticide after poisoning her mentally ailing son on Friday. The victim were identified as Murugeswari (35), wife of Kathirpandiyan from Annamalai Nagar at Thoppampatty near Thudiyalur, Hari Sabarish (7). The police said that Murugeswari was believed to have taken the extreme step as she was depressed over the mental condition of her son. The Thudiyalur police have registered a case.
