This independence day, tutoring platform Genext Students has an innovative campaign. Called ‘Freedom to Shine’, it intends to adopt two villages in Raigad, Maharashtra, to offer lessons to around 150 students in subjects like English, Hindi and Maths over an extended period.
The villages, Kharpale and Palas, have one school each with around 68 students in each. Genext will send its Tutorpreneurs for weekly sessions of 6-8 hours that combine technology- and classroom-based learning.
The focus is on making the students adept at the core concepts in elementary subjects.
The Tutorpreneurs will also help the teachers adopt innovative methods and tools. Ali AsgarKagzi, co-founder, says the campaign will reach out to the highly underserved rural community. “What is needed is a blend of technology and in-person support,” he says.
