Narada sting probe: ED interrogates Bengal minister

Minister and leader was on Thursday quizzed by the (ED) in connection with the Narada sting footage probe, an official said.

"He came to our office in the morning fan interrogation and left around lunch time," an ED official told IANS. He described Mukherjee's attitude as "cooperative".

Mukherjee, who is state Panchayat, Rural Development and Public Health Engineering Minister, was among a dozen leaders allegedly caught on video receiving money in exchange for a promise to dole out favours to a fictitious company.

The clipping was uploaded on the Narada news portal in March last year ahead of the state assembly elections.

The investigating agency had on Wednesday interrogated Urban Development Minister Firhad Hakim and also grilled state Fire and Emergency Services, Housing and Environment Minister Sovan Chatterjee on Thursday.

Besides Mukherjee, Chatterjee and Hakim, Transport Minister Suvendu Adhikari were also summoned by the investigating agency.

MP Sultan Ahmed and Kolkata Deputy Mayor Iqbal Ahmed were also interrogated.
