APCC president N. Raghuveera Reddy on Thursday lashed out at the TDP and the YSR Congress Party for vying with each to extend support to the Narendra Modi government at the Centre though it betrayed the State by denying Special Category Status (SCS).
Mr. Raghuveera Reddy, APCC vice-president N. Thulasi Reddy, former Union Minister Kotla Jayasuryaprakash Reddy and Congress candidate Gaddam Abdul Khader staged a road-show at Pasurapadu, Gospadu, Srinivasapuram, and Yalluru villages in Gospadu mandal in Nandyal constituency.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy mortgaged the interests of the State and that of Rayalaseema for their selfish political ends, Mr. Raghuveera Reddy alleged.
“The Congress alone can ensure development of Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and the Nandyal constituency,” Mr. Jayasuryaprakash Reddy asserted.
All the major irrigation projects such as Srisailam, Nagarjunasagar, Prakasam barrage and the Dowleswaram anicut had been built during the Congress regimes, he added. Kurnool DCC president P. Lakshmi Reddy, former Nellore ZP chairman Chanchal Babu Yadav, Allagadda in charge Ch. Pullaiah and leaders Ch. Mohan Rao and Gopal Reddy were present.
Meanwhile, Congress Kisan Cell president Jatti Gurunatha Rao, PCC secretary Muppidi Srinivasa Rao, Jangareddigudem SC Cell president Mallipudi Ravi Kumar and leaders Pydimukkala Krishna and Maddala Prasad canvassed for the Congress in the 21st and 28th municipal wards in Nandyal town.
