Chand Sultana, a woman from Koppal who was harassed by her employer in Saudi Arabia, has safely returned to the town.
Addressing a press meet at the residence of Lok Sabha member Sanganna Karadi here on Thursday, she said that she was hired by Fareed Sab of Saudi Arabia for taking care of his children.
“In the beginning the family treated me well. In addition to taking care of children, I was also asked to do household chores. After some days, I was locked in a room and was given two loaves of bread as food. My queries for their conduct were not answered,” she said.
Help from Sushma
She said that she was allowed to speak to her children after she collapsed due to weakness.
“My husband met MP Sanganna Karadi and explained my situation. The family treated me well after the media in India splashed news about my condition. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj contacted the embassy and helped me to return to India,” Sultana said.
