Bagappa Harijan, the notorious criminal, who was shot at by an unknown assailant on the district court premises in Vijayapura on Tuesday, was reportedly shifted to Hyderabad for further treatment on Wednesday.
Three of the five bullets that pierced his body were removed in BLDE hospital. His condition was said to be critical, but stable.
The hospital authorities said he was referred to Hyderabad hospital for further treatment. However, sources said he was shifted to Hyderabad owing to security reasons.
Meanwhile, advocates boycotted court proceedings in Vijayapura on Wednesday in protest against the district administration’s failure to provide security and install CCTV cameras on the district court premises.
