Sanjeev Patil today took charge as Superintendent of Police in Udupi district in place of K T Balakrishna, who has been transferred to Home Guards department as SP.
Balakrishna handed over official charge to Patil, whowas hitherto serving as SP of Anti-Corruption Bureau inBengaluru.
He had earlier served as Deputy Commissioner ofPolice in Mangaluru.
Balakrishna had taken charge as Udupi SP in July last year.
The transfer orders had been issued by the state government on August 4, police sources said.
