Leading rice company KRBL, which sells under the India Gate brand, today posted 40.40 per cent jump in consolidated net profit at Rs 112.90 crore in the first quarter ended June 30.
Net profit stood at Rs 80.41 crore in the year-ago period, the company said in a BSE filing.
Total income increased to Rs 878.90 crore in the April- June quarter of 2017-18 fiscal from Rs 726.73 crore in the year-ago period.
Expenses however remained higher at Rs 714.11 crore as against Rs 623.33 crore in the said period.
Shares of the company fell 2.63 per cent to settle at Rs 446.40 a piece on BSE today.
