The today rejected a filed by Raviprakash Dani, former vice chancellor of Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola, challenging his dismissal.

"The dismissed the and upheld the Chancellor's order (of Dani's removal)," said advocate Arun Patil, representing the respondents in the case.

The Governor, who is ex-officio Chancellor of universities, had terminated Dani's appointment as vice-chancellor of PKVD agriculture university at Akola on July 29 on the ground that Dani is not an Indian citizen.

In his petition, Dani termed his removal as unfair and arbitrary, making the Chancellor, state's Principal Secretary of Agriculture and the Registrar of varsity as respondents.

During his selection by the search committee headed by a former Supreme judge he had stated all the facts, he argued, asking why he was being punished now for something which he had never suppressed.
