Brijesh Krishnan, Associate Vice-President of Infosys Ltd., Mangaluru, has asked students to take the road less travelled to achieve success in life.

“There is a need to enjoy such a journey to success. One should not give it up while on the last mile,” he said, while addressing students after inaugurating the Association of Commerce and Management at the Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara (SDM) College in Ujire recently. The talk was organised by the college in association with The Hindu.

Learning to digest failure and bounce back stronger was one of the important lessons in the journey to success, he said and added that nobody taught a person how to fail.

Urging the need for defining the boundaries of personal and professional ethics, he said that there should not be any compromise on this.

People should have their own definitions for everything that mattered — whether it was success, happiness or love. They have to construct everything that was important to them, he said.

Highlighting the role of India and China in the global economy, he said that the share of these countries to the world’s GDP would increase to 15 % and 20 % by 2050 from the existing 7 % and 18 %, respectively.

K.S. Mohananarayana, principal of the college, urged the youths not to be risk-averse to succeed in their life.

P.N. Udayachandra, Head of the Department of Commerce and Registrar of the college, welcomed the gathering.

Ajay Kombrail, Head of the Department of Management, administered the oath of office to the office-bearers of the association.
