HMT Machine Tools’ Bengaluru Complex has successfully developed CNC Oil Country Lathe against an order from ONGC, Baroda, as an import substitution product under ‘Make In India’ initiative for the first time, said S Girish Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director, HMT.

Oil country lathes are very heavy duty lathes with large bore spindle required for oil /gas drilling and exploration industry. These are heavy duty lathes intended for carrying out threading, turning, facing and so on, operations on pipes of different sizes and length.
