Prices of urad and gram rose by up to Rs 300 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today on increased buying by stockists, driven by pick up in demand from retailers against tight supplies.
Traders said increased buying by stockists on the back of rising demand from retailers against restricted supplies from producing regions, mainly led to the rise in urad and gram prices.
In the national capital, urad edged up to Rs 4,500-5,500 from previous level of Rs 4,300-5200 per quintal. Its dal chilka local, best quality and dhoya were up by Rs 200 each to Rs 4,600-4,700, Rs 4,700-5,200 and Rs 5,100-5,300 per quintal, respectively.
Gram, gramdal local and best quality were also trading higher by Rs 200 each to Rs 5,400-6,200, Rs 6,100-6,500 and Rs 6,500-6,600 per quintal, respectively.
