The EU today pledged a financial assistance of 61.4 million euros to support Nepal's education reform programmes.
Nepal and the EU have signed signed a financing agreement titled 'Supporting Nepal's School Sector Development Plan'.
The agreement reinforces the cooperation between the EU and Nepal by continuing to support the promotion of inclusive and equitablequality education for all in addition to the ongoing joint initiatives on ruraldevelopment, earthquake recovery, and governance, according to a joint statement.
The agreement was inked by EU Ambassador Rensje Teerink and Nepal Finance Secretary Shantaraj Subedi.
"This Financing Agreement provides Nepal with an importantEU contribution topoverty reduction and socio- economic development in Nepalby raising educational access and achievements of the young generation on anequitable basis," said Teerink.
