The city police have arrested a 27-year-old man for allegedly creating a fake Facebook profile of Madhya Pradesh BJP chief Nandkumar Singh Chauhan, and posting indecent messages through it.
Superintendent of Police Navneet Bhasin said Saket Dixit, the accused, was arrested yesterday under the Information Technology Act, following a complaint by local BJP leader Sunil Jain.
"The accused was also using a SIM card obtained in another person's name. The SIM card, a computer and some other equipment was seized from Dixit's possession," he said.
A case was registered at Kotwali police station and further probe was on, he added.
