Byelection to a seat in the Legislative Council that has fallen vacant owing to the death of Vimala Gowda will be held on August 31.
Notification for the byelection will be issued on August 14 and the last date for filing nominations is August 21. Polling will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and counting of votes will be done at 5 p.m. on the day of the by-election, the release said.
