Mumbai: The Maharashtra Congress is all set to induct young and new faces into the party.
“We are in the process of administrative reforms. The administration is mulling options to induct new and young faces into the party’s important positions,” said Ashok Chavan, the party’s state unit president.
Mr. Chavan said, “We are finalising details on how to go about the actual induction of youngsters.”
The Congress leader said the party is undertaking administrative polls within the state to decide on office-bearers of several party outfits. “Yes, there are some problems in this, but we are working to overcome this.”
Replying to queries over possible defection of the party’s senior leaders, Mr. Chavan said the party is not aware of any such moves. “We have not heard any authentic news about party leaders going to other parties. We will discuss it if we find it true.”
