A team of officials led by Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation (KUIDFC) Managing Director A.B. Ibrahim visited Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) following State government's proposal to develop KGF as a satellite town of Bengaluru.
The team visited mining areas and held a meeting with R. Nanmathi of Bharat Gold Mines Ltd. (BGML) at 'Swarna Bhavan', the administrative office of the company located at Champion Reefs.
The State government had announced its intention in March this year to develop KGF as a satellite city to de-congest Bengaluru.
The team members elicited information about total asset and land of BGML.
According to BGML officials the company owns 12,109 acres land. While 1000 acre of it had been given to Bharat Earth Movers Ltd. (BEML), around 1000 acre land had been encroached upon.
Survey is being carried out to find gold ore in the area. The survey will be over in one or two months, Mr. Nanmathi informed the officials.
KSFC joint director Tanushri, Superintendent Engineer N. Srinivasan, general manager A.G. Bhat, deputy general managers Nagarathna and Shwetha, project director Renuka were present among others.
Robertsonpet City Municipal Council president Rameshkumar and Commissioner R. Srikanth explained about the development works carried out in mining areas.
